Roy McMurtry Youth Centre

In order to work in this facility all workers must pass a criminal record check as well as pass an MSG screening process since this is a sensitive facility. The other critical process is keeping track of all tools and material to ensure nothing is left behind, so being organized and tidy is extremely important. The project had three phases. The first phase was to replace 240 outDOOR wall pack lights to LED wall packs and upgrade all washroom lights. We had to do light level reading to make sure the lighting met the clients expectations. The second phase of the project was to install new communication cabling joining all the fire alarm panels. This involved a lot of investigation work in order to find the proper routing. We also had to install TVSS on all the communication links to protect the fire alarm panels from surges. The third phase was installing photocells for the douglas lighting system that controls all the lighting in the facility. This is a very intricate lighting control system that allows for a wide range of lighting controls. This project had three different components; fire alarm, lighting and lighting control in which we were able to complete all three items to the customers satisfaction.
